Cat and Burn

The premise is simple: a man moving on from his old life along with his cat, and as he moves into an uncertain future, he burns what's left of his past. It took about 6 hours start to finish.

The fire is mostly image planes, the smoke is a simulation rendered at 32px, the fire trail was done with Geometry Nodes by 3D Singh, and stock footage of dark clouds on an emission plane lights the scene. I made it as episode 1 of a retro style series I might keep going with.
